The metamorphosis

World looks divided, the fault lines have never appeared so deep at least to the majority alive. People are either on this side or that side. Debates about morality, ethics are breaking out. Everyone has the guns loaded, verbal or real. Everyone is angry and feels wronged. Looking outside, pointing fingers at who did wrong, remembering what went wrong.

We expected a better world. More economic development, more consumption, more happiness. The goodies. The physical war might be limited still to certain geography but the war within? Were we ever at peace within? When was the last time we were in complete silence and peace, both inside and outside. Why the surprise when what’s inside becomes so visibly manifest outside? Did we really expect to do any better? And are we listening yet? To the call of the time, to the voice inside. Have we made time to look a little deeper, beneath that chaos and anarchy within, what actually lies? Do we not live like it is only others who die. And we have all the time in the world to tick off our bucket lists. Don’t we have a list of justifications and excuses ready for why we are living the way we do?

Just like the pandemic we wish the physical war would just disappear and the world would change for the better. And we continue with lives unchanged looking for more HAPPINESS. Only time is no longer in support of our agenda. That threshold has been breached, beyond which there is a point of no return.

It’s time for the old to make way for the new. Like the snake shedding its skin, the pupa metamorphosing into a butterfly. There will be pain, no doubt but it will be worth it.
